Petroio wines are the product of centuries-old traditions, carefully preserved and adapted to modern techniques. From Chianti Classico Annata to Chianti Classico Riserva and Gran Selezione, every bottle reflects the unique character of our vineyards, rooted in the heart of Tuscany. Our commitment to quality ensures that every sip carries the essence of our estate.

Harvesting at Petroio is a labor-intensive and carefully managed process that ensures the highest quality for our wines. The harvest is done entirely by hand, allowing our team to select only the ripest and healthiest grapes. This traditional approach not only preserves the integrity of the fruit but also respects the land and its natural cycles.
The process begins in the vineyard, where experienced workers pick the grapes in small batches. Using lightweight bins, the grapes are transported to the cellar without damage, ensuring they arrive in perfect condition. At the cellar, each grape undergoes a second selection on a sorting table, where any that fail to meet our quality standards are removed. This meticulous attention to detail guarantees that only the finest fruit makes it into our wines.
Harvest timing is crucial and depends on factors such as the grape variety, vineyard location, and weather conditions throughout the growing season. At Petroio, the decision to harvest is made with precision, ensuring that each grape is picked at its peak ripeness. This ensures that the flavors, aromas, and structure of our wines are perfectly balanced, reflecting the unique characteristics of our vineyards.

Only the finest selections of our harvest make it to the bottle under the Petroio label. Our production is exclusive to the estate, ensuring that every step, from cultivation to bottling, is handled with care. This dedication to excellence is why Petroio wines are recognized and celebrated around the world.
Our first replanted vineyard, la vigna dell'Avvocato, dates back to 1988 while our last endeavour is the newly replanted Vigna del Poggio al Mandorlo. New clones, higher density and carefully managed canopy have helped us improve the quality of our vineyards allowing us to harvest quality grapes vintage after vintage.

At Petroio, winemaking is a deeply rooted tradition that combines respect for history with a commitment to excellence. Our vineyards, located in the Chianti Classico region, are the foundation of our wines, producing unique flavors that reflect the character of the land. Every bottle carries the essence of Tuscany, crafted with care and dedication.

We take pride in overseeing every step of the process on our estate, from cultivating the vines to the final bottling. The diversity of our vineyards, with plots of different ages and varietals, allows us to produce a wide range of wines that cater to various tastes while maintaining the authenticity of our terroir.
Petroio’s olive oil is made with the same care as our wines. Each olive is picked by hand from the trees on our estate, ensuring the highest quality. Within days, they are processed using modern milling techniques to retain their natural flavor and freshness. Stored in stainless steel tanks, our olive oil is a true taste of the land we cherish, ready to bring the essence of Tuscany into your kitchen.
